Baby J

Travis and I had the most amazing morning - we got to see our little bundle of joy! Last month, we had a white circle with a tiny flickering heart. Today, we were floored to see that the blob turned into a tiny, perfect human. Baby J was so active - it was bouncing off the walls - literally! Mommy can't feel that yet, but soon I will! When it first came up on the screen, Baby J turned its head and lifted its arm. In these pics you can see a distinct profile, and even five little fingers in one picture! It was so incredible and so much more real for us today. Everything was extremely normal which is SUCH a relief! The ultrasound tech had a guess as to the sex, but she didn't share because she wasn't sure. With a comment like that, you can imagine that Travis is pretty sure what she saw. haha We are such proud and thankful parents...enjoy the pics! Our New Office and An Unwanted Visitor

We stayed busy today, that's for sure. Travis and I started the morning with some dunkin' donuts coffee on the way to church (decaf of course for me). Church was great - we saw about 5-6 infants get baptized. It was extra special I think because both of us were thinking of our own child - how that will be us standing up there before too long!

Today, we transformed the office. It started out as a project to simply hang some shelves we got for Travis' footballs and helmets. Next thing you know, we replaced the curtains, moved a couch into the office, and slipcovered it! We are excited - not that we really minded the office before, but now it has been transformed. Since this is where I work now, it's nice to have it feel more homey. The Panthers stuff looks really cool displayed. My favorite of course is the Peppers jersey I had framed for Travis for Father's Day. It looks great!! Someday this stuff will go in his "man room" - but since we don't have one at this house, the office will have to do.

Other big events this weekend - Travis killed a snake!!!! Sheer terror is the only way to describe how I felt. We were relaxing out on the back patio, and noticed Lexi was chasing something in a spot where Travis had dug out some bushes. He went to investigate, and found a snake skin. At that point, Lexi and I ran inside and took cover. Travis is so brave...he moved around the pine needles until he found the little dude who had come out of that skin. He actually wasn't so little! He killed him, and felt terrible about it all day. But we agreed with my fear, and more importantly a dog in the backyard, it had to be done. It was gray, not black, but we think maybe that's because he just came out of his skin. Why in the world do snakes follow me? We had one at our old house, and now one here! AGH! OK, enough of that, nasty.

It was a good weekend, got a lot done, and now it's time to finally relax over a couple of steaks on the grill and a nice glass of wine/juice...

A couple of shots of the new office...

And a couple of shots of me and Baby...

Swim, Bike, Run, Have a Baby, Work from Home!

Thanks for stopping by. Travis and I have several friends with blogs about their families, and it just seemed like the natural thing to do to start one for ours! Especially since ours is growing. Speaking of growing, you should see me. Baby J turned 12 weeks old yesterday. Yeah! Just one more week until we can officially say the first trimester is over and we can relax (yeah right). I had a grocery store cashier say to me..."wow! you're pregnant!" Um, that was a brave lady. So I guess there's no doubt I'm showing. Anyway, it's terribly exciting and strange and fun to see this Baby slowly start to take over my body. I just can't wait until he/she gets bigger!!

Other things going on with us...this marks week 3 for me of working from home. I am absolutely loving it. Keeping myself really busy managing the house and our crazy animals who keep having to go to the vet. But also working on all sorts of real estate strategies and getting pumped to really dive into this career even further. Travis did a sprint triathlon on Father's Day WITHOUT training for it first! I was so proud of him. I can't wait to watch the video I took, every time he ran/swam/biked past me, I could hardly speak because I was overcome with emotion. I was just so proud of him and he was doing so well.

I could ramble on for hours about our happy little life, but I'll save some for another time.

This picture of Baby J was taken a month ago tomorrow. So we imagine that Baby is WAY bigger than that now (supposedly the size of a lime!). All you can really see is a white blob. Well that blob is our precious little baby, and growing less blob-like by the day! We will have another ultrasound next week, so hopefully we can see more then.

This picture I call "Working from Home." Please note that Lexi and Harley are NOT the best of friends, so you can imagine how much work I got done with one in my desk and the other standing guard.
